Greece imposes 150 euro fine for drivers without required vision aids

Under the new Greek Highway Code (Law 5209/2025), drivers who require corrective vision aids must use them while operating a vehicle, whether it is a car or a two-wheeled vehicle.

Drivers whose licenses feature the code ‘01’ are specifically identified as being required to wear glasses or contact lenses. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in a fine of 150 euros. To ensure safety and compliance, holders of such licenses are also advised to carry a spare pair of glasses.
