Greece imposes temporary lane closures on Athens‑Lamia highway and Trikala streets

From 3 June to 31 July 2026, the right‑hand lane of the Athens‑Lamia Motorway will be closed nightly between 23:00 and 06:00 for maintenance works, including removal of existing sound barriers. Drivers heading to Athens must use a detour via the Lamia interchange to re‑enter the motorway at the Pyrnas interchange. The A‑K Tatoiou exit will remain open.

In Trikala, a series of temporary traffic measures are scheduled between 2 June and mid‑June 2026. Specific road sections—such as Kouléti‑Deligióriou, Platónos‑Kavrákou, and an 8 km stretch of the provincial Trikala‑Peristera road—will experience lane closures, narrowed carriageways, or full interruptions during daytime hours to accommodate construction, fiber‑optic installation, and rain‑water pipe works. Drivers are urged to follow posted signs and use alternate routes where possible.
