Greece imposes temporary road closures in Ioannina and on AΘE highway

In Ioannina, the mayor Thomas Begkas signed a decision to ban vehicle traffic around the Molo area on Sunday night, 21 June 2026, for a public concert by the Municipal Symphony Orchestra at Mavili Square, scheduled to begin at 21:30. The streets closed include Patriarchou Evangelidis between Papandreou and Mavili Square and Karamanli between Patriarchou Evangelidis and the "boats" area. Drivers are advised to follow police directions and use alternative routes.

On the Athens‑Thessaloniki (AΘE) highway, the New Road company will carry out pavement work that will block the right lane and the emergency lane between km 127.25 and 125.65. The restrictions start on 19 June at 18:00 and are expected to last until 30 June at 07:00, with traffic shifted to the left lane and several entrance and exit ramps temporarily unavailable. The work will be performed on weekdays overnight, and motorists are urged to comply with posted signage.
