Greece increases tax scrutiny on influencer earnings
Greek tax authorities, specifically the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), have increased oversight and inspections of social media influencers due to surging digital earnings. Content creators on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook are generating significant revenue through brand collaborations, sponsorships, and advertising.
Earnings vary based on follower counts and engagement levels. Micro-influencers with 10,000 to 50,000 followers can earn between €1,000 and €10,000 per campaign. At the highest tier, mega-influencers with millions of followers can command more than €40,000 for a single sponsored post, with total income often bolstered by long-term monthly contracts.
