The Greek Ministry of National Economy and Finance has released a new bill for public consultation, scheduled to remain open until November 1st. The legislation, which aims to be passed within November, introduces a wide range of economic measures for the years 2026 and 2027.

Key tax reforms include reducing the tax rate to 0% for farmers with income up to 20,000 euros starting in 2026, and for three-child families starting in 2027. Additionally, the tax-free limit for tips received by employees is set to increase to 6,000 euros annually from 2026. For the private sector, social security contributions are expected to decrease by 0.5% starting in April 2027.

Social benefits include a 400 euro net bonus for retirees (expanding to all those over 65) and a 500 euro gross Christmas bonus for public sector employees starting in 2027. The bill also proposes an Individual Investment Account for Minors (AELA) with potential state contributions of up to 1,200 euros annually. Other measures involve rent tax exemptions for empty homes through 2027 and new regulations for managing private debt and interest rate caps.
