Greece introduces industrial tax incentives and agricultural subsidy updates

Greece has announced new economic measures aimed at stimulating industrial investment and supporting the agricultural sector.

The Ministry of National Economy and Finance is introducing a six-year accelerated depreciation scheme for the cost of acquiring, constructing, or upgrading machinery and equipment. This replaces the current ten-year period, providing businesses with faster income tax benefits and incentivizing the modernization of production assets. The Association of Industries of Central Greece has welcomed the move, noting it addresses a long-standing need for stronger investment incentives.

In the agricultural sector, the deadline for OSDE 2026 declarations is September 15 for producers seeking an advance on subsidies by October 31. For those submitting applications by this date, the advance payment can reach up to 75% for the first time. The final deadline for the Single Application for Support is October 16, 2026. Government Vice President Kostis Hadjidakis indicated that decisions regarding the acceleration of the declaration and payment processes are expected soon.
