Greece issues new guidelines for agricultural rights transfers

A new circular issued by the General Directorate of Inspection of Subsidies and Payments has established a framework for the transfer of basic income support rights for farmers for the 2026-2027 period.

The guidelines treat these support rights as intangible titles that can be separated from the land and traded independently. The framework covers nine categories of applications, including permanent transfers with or without land, inheritance, leases, and changes to personal details.

The entire process must be conducted electronically through a dedicated web application. Paper applications will not be processed unless there is proven technical failure or other exceptional circumstances. The procedure typically begins with the rights holder (the transferor) and is completed by the recipient.
