Greece K18 Women's Water Polo team defeats Netherlands

The Greece K18 Women's National Water Polo team opened their Group A campaign at the World Championship in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, with an 11-7 victory over the Netherlands.

After a competitive first 13 minutes, the Greek team, coached by Fontas Lembesi, utilized a strong defensive performance to secure the win. A notable highlight included an eleven-minute period where the Greek goal remained untouched. A 6-0 scoring run in the final minutes of the third period turned a 2-3 deficit into an 8-3 lead, allowing the team to maintain control through the fourth quarter.

Captain Nefeli Krassa was named the most valuable player of the match, scoring four goals. Other contributors included Aphrodite Bitsako with two goals and Saltamanika with two. Greece is scheduled to face Italy next in the tournament.
