Greece: Killer of Suzanne Eaton sentenced for prior attempted murders

A 34-year-old man, previously convicted of the 2019 murder of American biologist Suzanne Eaton, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for three additional attempted murders. The sentencing took place on Tuesday, October 27, at the Rethymno Court of First Instance.

The defendant was convicted of attempted murder in a calm state of mind regarding three separate incidents involving the use of a vehicle to strike women in the Chania region. These incidents occurred prior to the 2019 killing of Suzanne Eaton. While three victims were identified, only one testified in court.

The perpetrator has filed an appeal, and the case will be heard again at the Chania Court of Appeals. The 2019 case involved the disappearance and death of Suzanne Eaton, who was found dead in a cave after being struck by the defendant's vehicle while attending a conference in Kolymbari.
