Greece launches 1566 health service mobile app
From 20 May 2026 Greece’s citizen‑help hotline 1566 will be complemented by a new mobile application for Android and iOS devices. The app adds a digital channel to the existing telephone number, allowing users to locate health services, submit electronic requests and access information from agencies such as the National Organisation for Healthcare Services Provision (EOPYY), the Public Health Authority (EODY), the Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (HCDCP) and the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association.
Through Taxisnet credentials, the platform covers public hospitals, primary‑care, pharmacies, travel medicine, preventive actions and the filing of complaints. It also integrates the field‑officer programme, which places specialised staff in hospitals across the country to guide patients on‑site. The rollout aims to accelerate the digital transformation of public health services and provide a unified, user‑friendly experience for all Greek citizens.
