Greece launches €242 million rural road program covering 446 projects

The Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food announced the completion of the integration of 446 rural road projects under Intervention P3‑73‑1.2, with a total budget of €242 million. The projects will be implemented in 141 municipalities across 13 regions of Greece.

The programme, signed by General Secretary of Union Resources and Infrastructure Argyro Zerba, is the largest rural‑road initiative in recent ministry planning periods. The original call was €65 million; Minister Margaritis Schoinas approved a resource over‑commitment that raised funding to €242 million.

The works aim to improve access to agricultural land and livestock holdings, reduce travel time and costs for producers, enhance safety and increase the resilience of the road network against extreme weather conditions.
