Greece launches €350 million HELLAS‑SPACE 2.0 national space program

The Greek Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, together with the Secretariat General of Telecommunications and Posts and the Hellenic Space Center, unveiled the HELLAS‑SPACE 2.0 programme. Funded with €350 million from the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility, the four‑year plan is coordinated with the European Space Agency.

The programme targets high‑resolution Earth observation satellites, thermal‑imaging satellites for civil protection and environmental monitoring, secure satellite connectivity and geolocation services, space‑surveillance and radio‑frequency emission detection, as well as innovation labs, data‑service infrastructure, and the strengthening of Greece’s domestic space industry and research workforce. Expected applications include disaster management, transport, precision agriculture and public‑administration services, aiming to embed Greece more firmly in European and international space initiatives.
