Greece launches 3rd Panhellenic Student Savings Competition

The Financial Literacy Institute has announced the 3rd Panhellenic Student Savings Competition, scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026, in observance of Global Savings Day. Under the theme ‘I save today. I create tomorrow,’ the contest invites sixth-grade primary school students across Greece to participate.

The initiative aims to connect classroom learning with daily life, teaching students the value of saving, how to prioritize needs, and how small daily choices contribute to long-term goals. Previous iterations of the competition saw participation from 2,350 students across 166 schools nationwide.

The competition is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, the Bank of Greece, the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, and the University of Piraeus. Schools must register by October 22, 2026, with parental consent forms due by October 26, 2026.
