Greek Electronic Platform for Non-Performing Loans Launched
The Greek Ministry of Finance unveiled an Electronic Platform for Non‑Performing Loans (M.E.D.) at a seminar of the General Secretariat of the Financial Sector and Private Debt Management. The launch was welcomed by Financial Sector Secretary Theoni Alabasi and presented by deputy project manager Emmanuel Markakis.
The digital infrastructure consolidates data and transactions for the secondary market of non‑performing loans through three pillars – a Transactions Hub, a Data Hub, and a Knowledge Hub. It aims to standardise loan information, enhance transparency, improve comparability of loan portfolios and support more accurate valuation and due‑diligence processes. The platform is funded by the EU‑backed National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” under the NextGenerationEU programme, contributing to the digital transformation and stability of Greece’s financial market.
