Greece launches Equality Mark program for businesses

The Greek Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family announced the launch of the “Equality Mark” programme, administered by the General Secretariat for Equality and Human Rights. The scheme targets micro, small and large enterprises in both the private and public sectors that implement policies promoting equal opportunity, merit‑based hiring, transparency, and respect in the workplace.

Applications are accepted digitally between 15 July and 30 October 2026 via the official portal simaisotitas.minscfa.gov.gr. After a pilot phase under the SHARE programme, the Equality Mark will certify companies that embed lasting measures for gender‑balanced participation, transparent HR processes, prevention of violence and harassment, work‑life balance, and increased representation of under‑represented genders in leadership positions.

Minister Domna Michailidou emphasized that “equality in work is judged by practice – recruitment, pay, promotion, responsibility, protection from violence and harassment.” Deputy Minister Elena Rapti added that “equality is a driver of competitiveness and sustainable growth, making firms more resilient and attractive for talent.”
