Greece launches integrated digital oncology and hematology care system

On 12 June in Athens, the Greek Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Digital Governance hosted a briefing on a new Integrated Digital System for oncology and haematology care. The platform, built by the public health agency HEDYKA MAE in partnership with the Nova‑ICT consortium, creates a national registry of patients with neoplastic diseases that entered production use in early 2025. By 5 June 2026 the registry had recorded 21,488 unique patients and complies with European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR) standards, linking to the European Cancer Information System.

The system provides clinicians with full access to patients’ diagnostic, therapeutic and follow‑up data, supports multidisciplinary tumour boards, and incorporates AI‑driven image analysis. A mobile app enables patients to view treatment plans, test results and appointments, and to report symptoms in real time. Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis said: “The Integrated Digital System of Oncology and Haematology Patients is a major reform for the National Health System. With the National Registry of Neoplastic Patients and new digital tools we strengthen care continuity, improve service quality and obtain reliable data for better health‑policy planning.”
