Greece launches second round of 150‑euro child allowance in August
The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) will carry out a second payment cycle of the emergency child allowance of €150 per dependent child, scheduled to be completed by 31 August. The payment targets families whose children were born between 1 January 2025 and 31 July 2026 and were not covered by the first disbursement, either because the births occurred after the initial tax‑data cut‑off or the children were not registered as dependents.
The disbursement is automatic; no new application is required. Eligibility depends on having filed the relevant tax return, having the child listed as a dependent, meeting the income criteria, and, for children born in 2026, obtaining a tax identification number (AFM) by 10 August. Parents must also have a valid bank account (IBAN) on file. The allowance is tax‑free, cannot be garnished, and does not affect other social benefits.
