Greece leads WEEEVALUE project for electronic waste management

The WEEEVALUE project, led by the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy, is moving into its implementation phase to improve the management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). The initiative aims to transform old electronic devices from waste into reusable materials within the economy through repair, reuse, and resource recovery.

A key component of the project is the WEEE COLLECT digital platform, which will allow users to request the collection of old electronic devices. The project is part of the Interreg NEXT MED program and involves partners from eight Mediterranean countries: Greece, Jordan, Spain, Cyprus, Lebanon, Turkey, Tunisia, and Italy. The total budget is €2.786 million, with 89% co-financed by the European Union, and the implementation period extends until May 16, 2028.
