Greece Ministry of Labour announces emergency measures for Dodecanese

The Greek Ministry of Labour and Social Security has announced emergency measures to protect private sector employees from extreme weather conditions in the Dodecanese regional unit.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, between 15:00 and 18:00, there is a mandatory suspension of outdoor manual labor. This includes construction and technical works, shipyard repair zones, and delivery services using two-wheeled vehicles, scooters, or bicycles. The mandate applies to all workers regardless of employment type, including those on digital platforms.

Exemptions apply to socially critical infrastructure in health, transport, and public utilities, such as water, electricity, and air, sea, or rail transport, provided necessary safety measures and personal protective equipment are provided. Failure to comply may result in a fine of 2,000 euros per employee, enforced by the Labour Inspection.
