Greece Ministry of Labour sets stricter chemical exposure limits

The Greek Ministry of Labour and Social Security has issued a Presidential Decree establishing stricter occupational exposure limits for lead, its inorganic compounds, and diisocyanates. These substances are identified as toxic to reproduction.

The new regulatory framework aims to enhance worker protection through increased health monitoring and the implementation of digital tools. These digital resources will be used to map hazardous chemicals used in industrial production and track the protective measures applied in workplaces.

Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security Kostas Karagounis stated that the initiative focuses on preventing occupational diseases and that the ministry is prioritizing the health and safety of workers by utilizing modern digital tools for more effective inspections.
