Peristeri: Nurse accused of poisoning former husband with atropine

A 41-year-old military doctor in Peristeri has been targeted in a systematic poisoning attempt by his former wife, a 40-year-old nurse. The case came to light after the doctor, suspecting foul play following repeated bouts of illness, installed hidden surveillance cameras in his home. The footage captured the woman secretly adding atropine to his food and drinks.

Video evidence also documented a medical emergency where the doctor collapsed after consuming what was believed to be contaminated liquid. Police arrested the woman and her parents, discovering a 10ml bottle of atropine and a syringe in a vehicle.

Witnesses and relatives have provided conflicting accounts of the couple's relationship. One relative claimed the woman's parents interfered with the doctor's access to their child, while a friend of the accused stated she was unaware of the separation and described the woman as a ‘star’. Another acquaintance noted that the woman had previously claimed the atropine was merely eye drops for an ophthalmic issue.
