Greece offers free entry to 126 archaeological sites for August Full Moon

For the 27th consecutive year, 126 archaeological sites, historical locations, monuments, and museums across Greece will offer free admission to celebrate the August Full Moon on Friday, August 28, 2026.

While 65 sites will remain open for free entry, typically from late evening until midnight, 61 of these locations will host special cultural events. The program, organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with local authorities, includes theatrical performances, musical and dance events, exhibitions, and guided tours scheduled between August 26 and August 30.

The Acropolis Museum has announced a special schedule, remaining open from 09:00 until midnight on August 28, allowing visitors to explore its collections and view the Sacred Rock under the moonlight.
