PASOK targets New Democracy over economic and judicial issues

PASOK representatives have launched a series of political attacks against the New Democracy government, focusing on economic management and judicial integrity. Party spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas criticized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding recent measures for public debt, labeling them insufficient ‘band-aids’ that fail to address interest rate hikes or protect primary residences.

On the issue of fuel costs, PASOK officials, including the Energy Sector head, have condemned the government's response as delayed and inadequate. They proposed taxing the excess profits of refineries, energy companies, and banks to fund relief measures for households and farmers struggling with high costs.

Regarding the Tempi train tragedy, PASOK emphasized its role in pushing for the referral of former Deputy Minister Christos Triantopoulos to a special court. The party accused the Justice Minister of attempting to influence judicial independence and criticized the government's handling of the site's alteration.

Additionally, PASOK MP Michalis Katrinis stated that the party is on an upward trajectory, aiming to close the gap with New Democracy to become the leading force for political change in Greece.
