Greece passes law to resolve lakeside land ownership disputes
The Greek Parliament has passed a legislative regulation from the Ministry of Rural Development to resolve land ownership disputes in lakeside areas. The new law addresses the non-assertion of State rights over certain properties, specifically targeting lands affected by the drainage of Lake Karla.
Maximos Charakopoulos, General Secretary of the New Democracy Parliamentary Group, stated that the measure provides a clear solution for residents in lakeside villages, such as Kalamaki and Amygdala, who have faced difficulties securing rights to fields they have cultivated for years. The regulation aims to prevent misinterpretations of previous legislation by adding new provisions to Law 5024/2023.
