Greece announces September 2026 pension dates and teacher recruitment steps

Greece has announced the schedule for September 2026 pension payments and the recruitment process for substitute teachers.

According to e-EFKA, pension payments will be distributed in phases. Non-salaried pensioners, including those from former funds OAGEE, OGA, and ETAA, as well as private sector supplementary pensions, will receive payments on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Salaried pensioners, including those from IKA-ETAM, the public sector, and various other funds, will receive payments on Friday, August 28, 2026. OPΕΚΑ will pay pensions for the uninsured on Monday, August 30, 2026. Funds are typically available at ATMs the evening before the official date.

Regarding education, the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports has opened the platform for substitute and hourly teachers to submit their regional preference declarations for the 2026-2027 academic year. The process, conducted via the OPSYD electronic system, runs from August 14 to August 24, 2026. This applies to various categories of candidates listed in ASEP rankings. Additionally, candidates for teacher positions can submit objections to the provisional ranking lists for ASEP announcements 1GE/2026 and 2GE/2026 between August 12 and August 21, 2026.
