Greece poisoning trial adjourned for military doctor case

The trial of a 41-year-old woman accused of systematically poisoning her former husband, a military doctor, with atropine has been adjourned until March 17, 2027. The delay is intended to allow the Athens Forensic Service to complete investigations into food and water samples.

Prosecutors and the victim's legal team are seeking to upgrade the charges to felony or attempted murder. The victim's lawyer has requested that the defendant be prohibited from any communication with him, though the court has ruled that communication may only occur regarding matters involving their child.

The case emerged after the doctor experienced repeated illnesses following meals. Evidence, including footage from a hidden camera installed by the doctor, reportedly shows the woman adding a substance from a vial to his food and drink.
