Greece prepares 100 million euro industrial energy support package
The Greek government is finalizing a support package worth approximately 100 million euros to assist industrial sectors facing high energy costs. The measures aim to bolster the competitiveness of domestic production, specifically targeting energy-intensive businesses.
Following a meeting between the leadership of the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Hellenic Republic Employers Confederation (SEV), discussions are focused on aligning the package with both national fiscal capacities and the European Union's regulatory framework for state aid. While the 100 million euro figure is currently being processed, there are indications that the final package could be even more generous.
Details regarding the measures are expected to be announced by the Prime Minister during the SEV General Assembly on October 6. The initiative seeks to provide a broad response to energy price volatility rather than limiting support to a narrow category of beneficiaries.
