Greece prepares election measures and overseas voter updates

As Greece approaches national elections, the government is preparing a relief package valued at approximately 2 billion euros, centered around the upcoming 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF). Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has emphasized that the fair will serve as a critical platform to present costed programs and economic measures with a vision extending to 2030.

In preparation for the elections, the New Democracy party expects to announce over 100 candidates within September. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior has begun notifying Greek citizens living abroad via email regarding new registration requirements. Under new regulations, voters wishing to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections must submit a new application to be included in the special electoral rolls.

Eligible citizens residing abroad can choose from three voting methods: in-person attendance at an overseas polling station, postal voting, or postal voting specifically in cases where a local polling station is not established in their chosen city.
