Greece pursues co-production of Israeli LORA ballistic missiles
Greece is advancing discussions with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) regarding the potential co-production of the LORA ballistic missile system within Greece. This initiative is a central focus for the Greek Ministry of National Defense and military staffs as they seek to enhance the Hellenic Army’s deep-strike capabilities.
The LORA is a solid-fuel ballistic missile designed for precision strikes at operational and strategic depths. Recent developments suggest an evolution in the missile’s performance; while previous versions were cited with a range of up to 430 kilometers, newer reports following naval testing indicate a potential range of 500 kilometers or more.
Israel has expressed openness to broad cooperation, including domestic production, provided there is a commitment to a sufficient quantity of missiles. Proposed systems may include at least 25 percent domestic participation. The missile system is designed for versatility, capable of being launched from both land and naval platforms.
