Greece reinstates Dentist Pass for 300,000 children

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has announced the return of the ‘Dentist Pass’ program, which will provide free preventive dental check-ups to nearly 300,000 children. The updated program expands the age eligibility to include children aged 5 to 14, whereas the 2023 implementation was limited to those aged 6 to 12.

Similar to the previous version, the program is expected to provide financial support via a digital card to cover services such as oral health examinations and teeth cleaning. Details regarding the application process and specific service coverage are expected to be released soon.

Additionally, the Prime Minister noted that the ‘Prolamvano’ (I Prevent) program will become permanent by 2030. This broader initiative, which has already seen approximately seven million citizens undergo free preventive screenings, will expand to include new services such as preventive skin cancer screenings to facilitate early diagnosis.
