Greece rent refund: Payments expected by late November

Thousands of eligible tenants in Greece are expected to receive rent refunds for 2025 payments by the end of November. The state provides an annual refund for both primary residences and student housing, provided the rental amounts have been correctly declared.

The refund amount is calculated as 1/12 of the total annual rent paid during 2025. For a primary residence, the subsidy can reach up to 800 euros, with an additional 50 euros provided for each dependent child.

In cases where a household pays for both a primary residence and student housing, refunds can be calculated separately for each, subject to meeting specific requirements and maximum limits. For those who did not rent for the full year, the refund is calculated proportionally based on the months paid.
