Greece sets November 3 deadline for 2026 asset declarations

The deadline for submitting the 2026 Pothen Esches asset declarations is November 3. Approximately 300,000 individuals, including political figures, public officials, and certain private sector professionals, are required to complete the process electronically via the pothen.gr platform using Taxisnet credentials.

A significant change in the current cycle is that spouses must now submit separate asset declarations. The filings reflect the financial status and assets as of December 31, 2025.

The submission process has been streamlined through the automatic retrieval of data from various databases, reducing the need for manual entry. Automatically sourced information includes bank balances, term deposits, bond and mutual fund investments, credit card details, and loan balances from banks or individuals. Additionally, data regarding company holdings is retrieved through integration with the General Commercial Registry (GEMI), while income and vehicle information are pulled from E1 tax returns and real estate data from E9 forms. Despite the automation, declarants remain responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of all information.
