Greece sets terms for redistributive agricultural support

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has released the terms, conditions, and amounts for this year’s redistributive support for small-scale farmers in Greece. The support is distributed per acre based on the type of land used.

The annual direct aid is allocated as follows: 45.60% for arable crops, 27.50% for permanent crops, and 26.90% for pastures. Specific rates per acre include 13.8 euros for arable crops, 11.6 euros for permanent crops, and 17.7 euros for pastures.

To be eligible, farmers must hold rights from previous years, through transfer, or from the national reserve. Production is not a requirement for this specific income support. Eligibility limits vary by land type: arable crops require between 20 and 110 acres, permanent crops between 10 and 40 acres, and pastures between 10 and 170 acres. For mixed holdings, specific conversion factors apply to determine equivalent acreage.

Farmers are required to declare all areas within their holdings. The AADE warned that authorities may deny support if producers attempt to manipulate technical conditions, such as artificially splitting or reducing land area to meet eligibility thresholds compared to the previous year.
