Greece survey finds 83% see inflation as major problem

A large survey commissioned by the Professional Chamber of Athens and conducted by Pulse reveals that 83% of respondents consider inflation a "fairly or very important" problem for Greek society. Around 63% are troubled by the prices of basic goods such as food and supermarket items, while 61% express pessimism about the future of the Greek economy.

The study also shows that high living costs affect holiday plans: 43% will keep their usual vacation days, 25% will take fewer days and 24% will forgo vacations altogether. Government support measures receive mixed reviews – 59% view subsidies for vulnerable groups as heading in the right direction, yet many consider them insufficient, and 60% of self‑employed respondents approve the new 72‑installment debt‑relief scheme.
