Greece tax deadlines: December 31 deadline for outstanding obligations

Greek taxpayers face a critical deadline of December 31, 2026, to settle various outstanding tax obligations. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the imposition of penalties.

Key obligations include filing amended tax returns for retroactive salary or pension payments received in 2025. These filings must be completed electronically via the myAADE portal. For those who submit these amendments on time, tax liabilities can be settled in a lump sum by the end of January 2027 or through a standing arrangement of up to 24 installments. Notably, retirees may request to spread their debt over up to 48 monthly installments.

Other urgent matters include declaring parental financial gifts to justify living standards or property acquisitions, as well as filing tax returns for deceased individuals by heirs. All such declarations must be submitted by the end of the year to be considered during tax audits.
