Greece to deliver 330 landmark regional projects by 2027
Thanasis Kontogeorgis, the Minister of State, has outlined a government strategy for regional development in Greece, announcing that 330 landmark projects are scheduled for completion and delivery between 2026 and 2027.
These projects, which were designed and funded in previous years, aim to improve the daily lives and developmental capabilities of various regions across the country. Kontogeorgis emphasized that regional development is a prerequisite for the nation's next developmental step and is essential for economic and social cohesion.
In addition to completing current projects, the government is preparing for future growth through 50 Local Development Plans. These plans are intended to form a unified National Strategy for Regional and Local Development, linking national priorities with specific local needs. This work also serves as the foundation for preparing the national and regional partnership plan ahead of the new European Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028-2034.
