Greece to host sustainability and cycling events in Drama and Piraeus

Various environmental and sustainability initiatives are scheduled to take place in Greece during September 2026.

In Drama, the Regional Unit is organizing a ‘Cycling Day’ on Sunday, September 20, as part of the 6th European Week of Sustainable Mobility. The event will begin at 11:00 at the Drama Prefecture, featuring an organized cycling route, road safety demonstrations, and information sessions on eco-friendly transportation to encourage the use of bicycles in daily commutes.

In Piraeus, the Municipality is hosting its 6th Recycling Festival on Friday, September 18, at Korai Square. The event focuses on environmental education and recycling through interactive activities. The program includes school visits in the morning, followed by creative workshops, educational games, and a ‘Treasure Hunt’ for children in the afternoon, concluding with an awards ceremony.
