Greece to issue Market Pass vouchers and pensioner allowances in November

Greece is preparing several major social welfare payments scheduled for late November.

A new Market Pass program will provide food vouchers to approximately 116,000 households receiving the Minimum Guaranteed Income (EGE). Unlike previous monthly distributions, these vouchers will be credited in six-month lump sums. The program includes retroactive coverage dating back to March 1, 2024, for eligible beneficiaries, with potential retroactive amounts reaching up to 1,426 euros per household based on an average monthly support of 46 euros.

Additionally, an annual 400 euro allowance will be automatically paid to approximately 2.3 million pensioners. This payment is expected to coincide with December pension disbursements. To qualify, most pensioners must have reached the age of 65 by December 31, 2025. Exceptions include survivors' pension recipients, who have an age threshold of 60, as well as uninsured elderly persons and individuals receiving disability benefits through OPΕΚΑ, who face no age limit.
