Greece completes 150 euro child allowance supplementary payments
The Greek Ministry of National Economy and Finance, in coordination with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), has completed the supplementary payment of an emergency one-time child allowance. The measure provides 150 euros per child for dependents born between January 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026, who were not included in the initial disbursement cycle.
This supplementary phase covers 73,542 beneficiaries, representing 81,188 children, with a total amount of 11,935,500 euros. A significant portion of this—2,988,750 euros—was distributed to 11,334 beneficiaries who had previously failed to provide a valid IBAN or had incorrect banking details on file. Following updates and corrections to their banking information, these funds are being credited to accounts.
Authorities noted that 23,676 tax identification numbers (AFM) still lack a declared or valid IBAN, meaning those specific payments remain pending. The eligibility for this aid was determined through timely income tax returns and updates to the Tax Registry. Once the total process is complete, the total fiscal expenditure for this child allowance measure is expected to exceed 232 million euros.
