Greece to issue supplementary 150 euro child allowance by August 31

A supplementary payment of 150 euros per child is scheduled to be credited to eligible families in Greece by August 31. This disbursement is a settlement for families who were excluded from the initial payment cycle due to procedural issues.

The primary beneficiaries are families who had children born between January 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026. For children born in 2025, parents must ensure the child is declared as a dependent in their 2025 tax return, with the child's AMKA (Social Security Number) correctly recorded.

For children born between January 1 and July 31, 2026, parents must apply for the issuance of a Tax Identification Number (AFM) by August 10. This process requires a birth certificate and a parental consent declaration. Once the AFM is issued and matched with the child's AMKA, the funds will be transferred automatically to the registered IBAN. No new application is required if all tax and social security data are correctly updated in the system.
