Greece to issue supplementary emergency child allowance by August 31
A supplementary payment of the emergency child allowance, amounting to 150 euros per child, is expected to be completed by August 31. This disbursement is intended for eligible families who were not included in the initial payment cycle.
The amount received by families will depend on the number of eligible children: 150 euros for one child, 300 euros for two, and up to 450 euros for three children. This secondary settlement primarily targets beneficiaries whose data had not been integrated into the electronic systems during the first processing phase.
For children born between January 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026, specific requirements must be met. For those born in 2025, children must be listed as dependents in the relevant 2025 tax declaration, and the child's AMKA must be correctly recorded. For children born in 2026, parents must apply for a Tax Identification Number (AFM) by August 10.
Payments will be made automatically to the beneficiary's declared bank account via IBAN registered with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE). No new application is required if the recipient meets the criteria and has updated their information.
