Greece to launch new Market Pass and 300 euro subsidy

A new cycle of financial assistance for households and vulnerable social groups in Greece is expected to launch in the coming months. The measures focus on the new Market Pass and an annual 300 euro subsidy.

The Market Pass is projected to be activated toward the end of autumn, delayed from its original September start due to technical requirements for a new information system. It aims to support over 200,000 vulnerable households against rising food and basic goods prices. Potential beneficiaries include those who have received Minimum Guaranteed Income since March 1, 2024, as well as unemployed individuals, single-parent families, large families, and people with disabilities.

Monthly assistance for a single-person household is expected to start at approximately 40 euros, increasing based on family size. Retroactive payments could potentially reach significant amounts depending on the duration of eligibility. Additionally, the annual 300 euro subsidy is planned for disbursement in November.
