Greece to maintain exclusive control over Achilles Shield software

Greek Deputy Minister of National Defense Athanasios Davakis has announced that the source code for the command and control system of the ‘Achilles Shield’ defense program will be Greek. While the project involves technology transfer from Israel, the software and its source code will remain under exclusive Greek control and intellectual property rights.

Davakis emphasized that this arrangement allows Greece to operate, maintain, modify, and upgrade the system according to national operational needs without external involvement. He addressed inquiries from independent MP Peti Perka in Parliament, defending the program as a modern and necessary equipment project for the country.

Responding to concerns regarding transparency and costs, the Deputy Minister stated that information has been provided through parliamentary oversight and the relevant Equipment Programs Committee. He dismissed claims that the Parliament had not been sufficiently informed about the system's evaluation or costs.
