Greece to ratify defense agreements with France and Serbia
The Hellenic Parliament is set to ratify two defense and cooperation agreements involving France and Serbia. These bills, introduced by the Ministry of National Defence, aim to formalize existing international commitments.
The agreement with France concerns the voluntary contribution of a Greek officer to the Centre for Analysis and Simulation for Preparation of Air Operations (CASPOA), a NATO Centre of Excellence. This partnership, signed in early 2023, allows Greece to participate in the design and simulation of air operations rather than acting solely as a user of allied plans.
The second agreement with Serbia focuses on cooperation within the Multinational Coordination Centre for Strategic Maritime Transport based in Athens. Originally signed in 2017, this memorandum outlines services and facilities for movements and transport, utilizing Greek infrastructure within a multinational framework.
