Greece to transition to winter time in October 2026

Greece and other European Union member states are scheduled to transition from summer time to winter time on Sunday, October 25, 2026. At 04:00, clocks will be set back one hour to 03:00, marking the return to Eastern European Time (UTC+2).

The change is scheduled for the early morning hours to minimize practical disruptions to transportation, public services, businesses, and electronic systems. Following this transition, daylight will appear later in the morning, and sunset will occur earlier in the afternoon. Summer time (UTC+3) is expected to return on March 28, 2027.

While there have been ongoing discussions within the European Union regarding the abolition of seasonal time changes—including a 2018 proposal by the European Commission and support from the European Parliament—no final decision has been reached. Consequently, the current system of biannual clock changes remains in effect.
