Greece to transition to winter time on October 25

Greece will transition from daylight saving time to winter time on the morning of Sunday, October 25. At 04:00, clocks will be set back one hour to 03:00, returning the country to Eastern European Time (UTC+2).

This change occurs simultaneously across all European Union member states in accordance with EU regulations. The transition is scheduled for the early morning hours to minimize practical disruptions to public services, businesses, transportation, and electronic systems.

The practice of switching time zones aims to maximize the use of natural sunlight, which can benefit human biological rhythms and reduce the need for artificial lighting during morning hours. Additionally, the measure is intended to facilitate energy savings. Daylight saving time is scheduled to return on Sunday, March 28, 2027.
