Greece U16 basketball team suffers two losses in EuroBasket opening games

The Greece U16 men's national basketball team has suffered two losses in their opening matches of the EuroBasket U16 tournament.

In their opening game, Greece lost to Spain 96-86 in overtime. Despite holding a 14-point lead during the match, Greece was unable to secure the win in regulation, ultimately falling to a Spanish surge in the extra period. Andreas Barlos and Giannis Spanos were standout performers for the Greek side.

In their second match, Greece faced Israel and lost 89-84. Greece maintained a double-digit lead mid-game, but Israel mounted a comeback to win in the final stages. Giorgos Monamas led Greece with 19 points and 6 assists, while Giannis Spanos recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
