Greece U21 squad announced for decisive EURO 2027 qualifiers
The Greece U21 national football team is entering the final stage of the EURO U21 2027 qualifying campaign. Head coach Giannis Taousianis has announced a 25-man squad for three decisive upcoming matches.
The team's schedule includes an away match against Georgia on September 26, a home game against Latvia in Livadeia on October 1, and a final away fixture against Northern Ireland in Belfast on October 6. The primary objective is to secure three wins to aim for direct qualification for the tournament, which will be hosted by Serbia and Albania.
Currently, Greece shares the top position in Group 9 with Germany but trails in tie-breaking criteria. While the nine group winners and the best runner-up qualify directly, other second-place teams must compete in play-offs for the remaining spots. New additions to the squad include Sotiris Kontouris, Erik Hamza, Bakoulas, Almiras, and Anestis Mythou, while players such as Botis, Rallis, and Filon will be absent.
