Greece weather: Heat in Argolis followed by approaching storms
Greece is experiencing shifting weather patterns, transitioning from high temperatures in some regions to incoming severe weather in others. In the Argolis region, including Nafplio and Argos, summer-like conditions are persisting. Temperatures in Argos have reached up to 35 degrees Celsius, while Nafplio remains slightly cooler due to sea breezes, with highs around 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.
However, a significant weather disturbance is approaching the country. Meteorologists warn of a transition toward more autumnal conditions, with temperatures expected to drop by 5 to 7 degrees Celsius. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecasted, particularly affecting southern Greece, Crete, and the Peloponnese. The western Peloponnese is expected to face intense storms, while Crete may see persistent rainfall and wind.
While parts of the country enjoy clear skies and heat, the upcoming 24 to 48 hours will bring increased cloud cover and localized precipitation, particularly in maritime areas of the Ionian Sea and across the southern peninsula.
