Greece welcomes international travel groups on cultural tours

Greek authorities and tourism partners hosted two separate cultural tours in Greece this July. Senior members of the Greek diaspora, aged 65‑75 and representing 19 countries, embarked on a ten‑day itinerary that began in Thessaloniki on 6 July and included visits to Xanthi, Kavala, the archaeological sites of Philippi, Mount Olympus, Dion and the Acropolis in Athens. The program featured traditional Greek dancing, music and cooking demonstrations organized by the YMCA of Thessaloniki.

Separately, Heavens Portfolio organized a luxury‑focused tour for Australian travel advisors, taking them from the Athenian Riviera to Mykonos, Santorini and Paros. Highlights included a sunset at the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, a cruise to the UNESCO‑listed island of Delos, and stays at high‑end resorts such as Kalesma, Vedema and Mystique. The advisors sampled Greek cuisine and explored historic and scenic sites across the Cyclades.

Both trips showcase Greece’s cultural heritage and hospitality offerings to international visitors.
